Thiruvedhikudi temple is on the Thanjavur-Thiruvaiyaaru road, at about 2 kms from Thirukandiyur. This is one of the Sapthasthaana temples. This temple dates back to the times of king 1st Aditya Cholan.
Since this is the holy place where Brahma worshipped, it is called Vedhikudi and Lord Siva is known as Sri Vedapureeswarar.
Thirugnanasambandar and Appar have rendered divine hymns at this temple. Marriage related obstacles are rectified here by devotees.
